Recovery from 500 error on client site

Sometimes something goes wrong with your client site and it throws a 500 error. This can be after upgrading Joomla or an extension - YourSites may be able to help you diagnose the cause of the problem and help you resolve it.

When you open client site in the frontend the nightmare scenario is a white screen, a partial webpage or a 500 error message. Even worse you may not be able to access the backend of the site to sort things out!. What can you do?

Thankfully YourSites has some tools that may be able to help diagnose and resolve these issues. They are described in our article about using site clones to test a Joomla 3 to Joomla 4 upgrade. The techniques described work in Joomla 3 and Joomla 4 and don't only relate to a Joomla upgrade that goes wrong.

Please see the article Using a Cloned Sites to Test Your Joomla 4 Upgrade for more details.
